Women's Wardrobe Essentials: The White Tee
In my previous WWE post about leather jackets, I left you all with a clue: Dem Franchize Boyz. Were you able to guess what was next on our list?? Next up is the White Tee. The white tee is the most versatile article of clothing anyone can have in their closet. Almost everyone has a white tee in their closet, and if you ask them what they use it for, you'll get a different answer from everyone. Its either your undershirt, your gym shirt, your "going to the store" shirt. summer picnic shirt, and of course the over sized white tee is your sleep shirt. This is the holy grail of cotton!
Types of white tees:
The Crew Neck: The crew neck tee is the most recognizable tee, and can easily be worn with just about anything. Dress this tee up with a statement collar necklace to stand out in the crowd.
The V-Neck: Even though the crew is recognizable, the V-neck tee is the most popular top. The V-neck gives a little emphasis to the girls without having them spill out everywhere. (Unless we're talking about Hollister. Their V's go super low!)
The Pocket Tee: If the Crew and V neck tees had a bunch of babies, they'd all look like the pocket tee! Usually pocket tees have a small pocket on the left side of the chest, but can vary between crew neck, v-neck and scoop neck, which has a neck line that stops at the center of your chest.
Why you need a white tee:
1. Easy to accessorize: Whether you chose to go simple with a pendant, or sassy with large hoops, the white tee is the canvas and you are the beautiful frame!
2. Perfect layering item: If you're unsure about what to wear on a first date, throw on a white V-neck and a cute blazer and voila! Or you can pair a hoodie with a crew-neck tee if you're running late for school.
3. Comfort 24/7: "White tees are so uncomfortable!!" said no one ever! You can never go wrong with a white tee in your everyday life. It'll always come in handy!
My favorite tees (with their links!):
One thing I will say is that unless you have the miracle hands of a West Indian grandmother, your white tees will get dingy over time. Pre-treatment and bleach and your tees should last.
