MAJOR KEY: Perspective
“...He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
Moses was destined for greatness. The Bible foreshadows this with the many ways Moses had already 1. been drawn out of the water, 2. defended a Hebrew man, and 3. drawn water for the seven Midian daughters. After Moses flees from Egypt for killing an Egyptian, he makes a living for himself in Midian. He marries, starts a family and everything seems to be going okay for him. While tending to his daily tasks, he sees a bush burning and decided to pay attention to it. When God saw Moses paying attention to the bush, He called out to him. I imagine that Moses probably always thought about his home in Egypt and his Hebrew people who were suffering. But he had a great life in Midian, where things were easy and worry free. Just because you ignore your burning bush (dream) doesn't mean its not burning. How long will you wait until you tend to your flame?
NEWSFLASH: The burning bush is your gift. It will burn continuously without being consumed until you acknowledge it. Have you ever had a dream that you couldn't shake off? I suggest you stop and pay attention to it the way Moses did.
Your perspective on your dreams determines where you will take them. Matthew 6:22 tells us “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If your outlook on your dreams is seen through a lens of light, you will see the vast potential it has. But if you're looking through a lens of darkness, your dreams will always be lacking and they'll never grow.
