IV Girls Pop-Up Shop RECAP!
IV Girls did it again! Last weekend IV girls hosted our second fundraiser, the IV Girls Pop-Up shop! IV Girls wanted to support black entrepreneurs and introduce our community to new brands and products made for us by us. IV Girls is a non-profit organization who's goal is to grant four qualified women with academic scholarships by 2018. We hosted this event to support and invest in future scholars and growing businesses and we were so happy with the support we received to make this happen.
We were devastated when we heard the news of the catastrophic hurricane that hit the Caribbean, specifically Jamaica and Haiti. IV Girls has very close ties to Haiti. With many of us having families there, it was only fitting to use our pop-up shop as an opportunity to help in any way we can. We partnered with The Haitian American Caucus (HAC) and vow to donate 20% of our ticket sales towards Hurricane Matthew relief in Haiti.
Hosted at The Loft on H in Brooklyn, we turned the restaurant/lounge into a mini-mall! We featured Earthly Wonders Beauty, Eltsuh, Klxtch Cxrrency, LitBklyn, Mario N' Lee, By Nia Angeline, and YFW. All black-owned and managed, all from Brooklyn! Looks like you really can have your cake and eat it too!
We had an afternoon of laughs, conversation, and great vibes! A special thank you to Loft on H Restaurant and Lounge, Daniel Studio Photography, and DJ Kelz for creating the perfect mood for us to shop, shop, shop! There was so much good energy in the building and are proud that we had such a variety to offer to our community.
We are always so thankful for our supporters who believe in our mission. IV Girls are working tirelessly to make sure we are able to provide and support our Girls as well as our community. To stay updated with our upcoming fundraisers, follow us at @iv.girls.
