Hanifa Presents 3D Virtual Fashion Show for "Pink Label Congo" Capsule Collection

Last night, Anifa Mvuemba made “history baby!” The founder of contemporary apparel line Hanifa debuted the new “Pink Label Congo” capsule collection with a 3D Virtual Fashion Show presented on Instagram Live. The brand used 3D models to showcase the new capsule collection and when I tell you those models were WALKING honey! Watch the full 3D Fashion show below:

In the brief talking portion of the video, Anifa explains how the “Pink Label Congo” capsule collection was designed to bring awareness and provide relief to the brutal coltan mining conditions that often effect women and children the most in her Motherland, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Anifa offered tribute to African seamstresses everywhere by paying close attention to color and textures The color palette used in this collection was inspired by the colors/feelings that remind her of Home. Anifa went on to mention how intentional she was with every detail included in this Congo inspired collection. On Twitter, she was sure to give praise to Jesus Christ. We stan a Woman of Faith and the fruit of her labor is seen in the beautiful textures woven into each item.

Presenting this new collection on Instagram Live was a great idea because it was absolutely worth watching over, and over. A few comments I read during the Live was “A Black woman made history.” and “This feels like Beyonce.” Some of my favorite pieces include the Zaire Denim Jumpsuit, Orélie Co-Ord Set, and the Veronique Blouse worn by Anifa in the clip in the Caramel color. The folds, the ripples, the volume of every piece delivers bold femininity coupled with enchanting grace. I’m so happy for Anifa like I know her personally!
