Outfit of the Day: Birthday Edition!
Happy Birthday to me!!! I am very excited to be one year older, wiser, and growing for the better! Most of all I can finally chop up my sister's ID because I'll never have to use it anymore! I turned 21 last Tuesday, September 30 (hey Libras!) and I wanted to do something different this year. Instead of a birthday dinner like I'd done for 5 years prior, I opted for a birthday brunch. I chose a brunch because its about time I stopped celebrating my birthday at night! Something about the daytime that makes things more pleasant, and it gives me more options when choosing an outfit! If you haven't noticed... I changed my hair! I installed crotchet braids with Marley hair. I curled it with about 35 perm rods and though they were still wet when I took them out, I loved the waves it made! It looked completely effortless even though sleeping with those rods were quite the opposite!
Because it was Saturday Brunch, I chose to go for the "grown and classy" approach and what's classier than a blazer?! This blazer (thrifted), like most of my thrifted blazers, are oversized and fabulous! I loved the green and blue color-way and since I'm not too fond of many prints, plaid was the way to go! With the blazer, I wore a very simple white tailored button-up (Gap) with a navy blue high-rise wide-leg trouser (Gap). Can we have a moment for these trousers?! I'm not sure if I love the trousers or if I just love high-waist flare, either way whenever I want to be a little more fancy, I pick up these pants!
For accessories I wore an alligator print belt (H&M), matte black pointed-toe pumps (F21) with a gold hinged black tote to match (H&M). I think I have a thing for pearls, because as much as I wanted to choose another statement necklace, I couldn't stray away from pearls! This necklace fell perfectly in place among the white top. My sunnies were from Ray-Ban.
Overall, I had a really pleasant birthday! Full of laughs, smiles, (mimosas) and good vibes! Talk to you guys soon!
Love,
Evelyn
