Outfit Of the Day

   Hi everyone!! First things first, I know I've been gone for a minute, and I am soo sorry! But the good news is I'm am back and ready to keep up with my posts! During my hiatus, A LOT has happened! I'm back in school, I got a new job, and best of all...Spring is here!! Winter wasn't trying to leave without a fight but I think we're finally done with old man Winter! I promised ya'll that I'd start getting into what's trending this Spring/Summer. With today's look, I'm sporting the season's more timeless trend: Nautical Stripes.

    With this trend, you'll find shades of blue like powder, royal, and navy blue almost always paired with white. What I love most about this trend is that its the easiest to pull off and virtually impossible to mess up! Because you're guaranteed to have blue in your ensemble, you know exactly what colors work best. You can go bold with orange, classic with red, playful with yellow, or simply chic with white.  Today I'm wearing a navy blue striped shift top with a pair of white slim-cropped slacks - both from Gap. It may be Spring, but its not as warm as I'd want it to be so I wore this gorgeous trench coat from H&M. I love this trench because it has such an androgynous look to it. There are no epaulettes, no pleats, and no double-breasted buttons...I almost thought it was a men's jacket! Because the stripes in my top were so dark, I was able to accessorize with a black oversized envelope clutch from Forever 21, along with my two-toned pointed-toe pumps from Sam Edleman. This usually shouldn't happen, but I think I got away with it.
